I have to start by saying that I'm 27 years old and haven't played with... I mean BUILT anything with Legos in probably a decade. I got this set for my 14 year old cousin who loves Legos but once I looked at it I decided I definitely wanted to work on this as well. The box comes with 7 labeled bags of Legos and an eighth unlabeled bag that has some additional larger pieces. It also comes with three instruction manuals. This is the largest Lego set I've ever constructed.
Bags 1 and 2 are the two cars (a red and green one) as well as the Lego men that drive them. Both cars are elaborate and fun to make, requiring quite a bit of concentration and patience - it's like making a puzzle... a 3-D puzzle that you can then drive around and shoot things with. Yes, the red car is actually some kind of monster truck with a rocket launcher that launches little wooden balls a good 5 feet across the room. Very cool. These were the two parts that I constructed.
My cousin handled bags 3 - 7 which ends up being a giant semi truck with a crane that seems to go with the green car (at least color wise). He had a great time putting this together, and said it was one of the cooler Lego sets he's seen as far as final product goes.
So, the main point of this review is that a 27 year old and a 14 year old put this together and both thought it was very fun, very cool and fun to play with after it was done... I can imagine anyone younger would have even more fun playing with it after it was done, and aside from a few slightly difficult steps in the process the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Well done Lego!

This Lego set is wonderful. The finished product is sturdy and eye catching. Suitable for older tweens/teens, in my opinion. Or perhaps adults who like to build stuff to keep busy rather than doing boring 2d puzzles.
I thought that there was no way to justify the price point here but am satisfied with that as well. The set arrived with the parts advertised and putting it together was quite fun!
